Finnish M29 Mosin Nagant Bayonet

A rare Finnish M29 Mosin Nagant bayonet with fluted steel scabbard.
The bayonet has a steel rounded pommel with push release button, it has slab wood grips secured with two rivets.

The polished steel fullered blade measures 11 ¾" (30cm) and is stamped at the ricasso with the makers stamp "HACKMAN & CO”.
The original steel scabbard is undamaged and still retains its original paint.
This is a good example of a rare M29 Finnish bayonet.




Percussion Sea Service / Coast Guard Belt Pistol

This is an original Victorian, English 1855 dated, Tower Sea Service / Coast Guard Percussion Belt Pistol.

The pistol is 11 inches long with a 6 inch .56 calibre smooth bore barrel, the barrel is crisply stamped with numerous ordinance/proof/inspection marks, the wood is a nice light brown with brass furniture, the lock plate is crisply marked with a crown V.R, 1855 over 'Tower' and small crown over British military broad arrow mark.

All metal work and wood work are in very good condition and the pistol has a good strong working action.

NB As an antique percussion pistol no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as a part of a collection or display.


WWII 1943 dated British army Jack knife with Marlin spike and tin opener.

Stamped with the British military broad arrow and Richards Sheffield 1943.
All tools lockout good with no sloppiness.




Argentinian model 1891 Sword Bayone

An Argentinian model 1891 sword bayonet (for the M1891 Mauser rifle) by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co with matching serial number scabbard .

The bayonet has white metal grips stamped with the “RA” Argentinian property stamp.

The 40cm fullered polished steel single edge blade is in very good condition.
The ricasso is stamped on one side with "Modelo Argentino 1891" and the serial number "F6327.", the reverse it has "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solingen".

The blued steel scabbard is in excellent condition and has the same serial number stamped above the frog stud "F6327."


British Police Truncheon by Hiatt

An early 20th century, heavy dark wood (336g) British Police Truncheon stamped ‘Hiatt & Co Birmingham’ on the bottom of the grip.

15 inches (38cm)
In good solid condition with just a few small dents and scratches.


1970s MOD Riot Baton

An MOD 1959 pattern 24 inch (61cm) riot baton, is stamped to the top with the contract Number **- 0717' '1976' (year of supply) & 'R.W.C'.

Complete with leather wrist strap.

1970s British CID Detectives Truncheon by Hiatt

This is a 1970s 12 ¾ inch truncheon known as a 'Stout',

The London Metropolitan Police officially called this pattern 'No. 2 Truncheon'. These would have been issued to C.I.D. & higher ranks. Also police working in plain clothes would have been issued with this pattern as it was easier to carry concealed whilst working plain clothes duty.

This one is turned from the West African hardwood Bubinga,( this hardwood is now on the Cites listing; it is a protected wood).

Leather wrist strap stamped 'HIATT'.

In good solid condition with just a few slight dings and scratches to one side of tip


Norwegian AG-3 Bayonet

Norwegian Model 1968 Knife Bayonet for the Automatgevaer 3 Rifle (AG-3).

This is an early type 1 Norwegian AG-3 knife bayonet with textured plastic olive coloured grip, 16.8cm parkerised steel blade and woodgrain coloured plastic scabbard.

These early type 1 AG3 bayonets were manufactured by Carl Eickhorn Waffenfabrik in Germany.

29.5cm overall.

An early type first version (c1959) of a West German Heckler & Koch G-3 bayonet with 12 grove shiny black plastic granular texture grip and a 16.5cm parkerised knife blade.

1st Pattern French M1892 Bayonet

A scarce 1st pattern French M1892 bayonet with matching numbers for the 8mm Mannlicher Berthier artillery carbine.

This is a original 1st pattern M1892 bayonet with riveted horn grips, short muzzle ring, hooked quillon and has not been later modified as have many other early M1892 bayonets.

Both bayonet and scabbard have the same matching serial number '95113' and are in very good original condition with just some very light rust/pitting here and there.

The blade is in excellent condition.



M1886 French Lebel Bayonet with matching numbers scabbard

This is a very early 1st pattern French M1886 Lebel rifle bayonet with the early type fixed white metal hilt, (later M1886 bayonets were fitted with removable hilts) down swept quillion and round button catch.
The cruciform blade is 520mm (20 ½") in length and is undamaged.

Bayonet it is complete with it's original blued matching numbers (87841) steel scabbard (no dents).

All in very good condition.

A c1900 heavy wood (350g) 15 inch police truncheon, stamped near the top with a crown along with the letters CP (City Police) for the City of London Police.

Bottom of grip is stamped with the maker details of Hiatt & Co Birmingham.

Devon county constabulary was formed in 1856 and was the Home Office police force for the county until 1966.

This is an early 1845 pattern British Royal Navy cutlass with black painted cast iron bowl shaped hilt, ribbed iron grip and 26 inch (66cm) straight steel blade, spine stamped 'ENFIELD' and crown over V.R.

The blade ricasso is stamped with the British War Department mark ' W⩚D', Enfield inspectors proof stamp of crown over 'E 53'.

The opposite ricasso has the 1888 conversion stamp 'C/88'.

A good early pre 1858 example with clean undamaged blade.

British Pattern 1853 Cavalry Trooper's sword with a 35 ½ inch curved spear point blade, double edged for the last 9inces, ricasso with the German manufactures mark of J&C and British crown proof mark stamped to the opposite side.

Chequered leather two piece grips riveted to each side of the tang, wrought iron three bar guard with top of tang engraved R.H.A DT 155.

All in very good condition. Straight blade tight hilt.

A good original French Gras Sword bayonet for the Model 1874 Gras rifle, the successor of the Chassepot. It has a straight, clean 52.5cm (20 ½”) T back blade. The back of the blade is dated 1877 and is marked by the manufacturer, ‘Manufactures D’Armes De St. Étienne’. The slab wood grips are in good undamaged condition. It has a hooked quillon which is secured with two rivets and muzzle ring. It has a brass pommel and a push button release which operates smoothly. The cross guard has numerous inspection marks and is numbered ‘L 81682’. It is complete with its original blued steel scabbard which has matching serial number ‘L 81682’

Prussian M1873 Artillery Sword

Prussian world war one era M73 artillery enlisted man's sword with original steel scabbard.

The hilt is firm and the bakelite grips are undamaged, the blade spine is marked with a crown over W 00 indicating the year 1900.

Blade with original bright finish and is generally clean with just odd patches of discoloration.

The original scabbard is regimentally marked 'S.S.2.II.6.111' and is dent free.

Good overall condition.

A Rare British M1858 Naval Cutlass Bayonet, with a 26.5 inch steel blade showing the German Solingen maker mark of Anton Wingen and British inspectors markings of a crown over S/8 and crown over S/18. The hilt with sheet steel guard, chequered pressed leather grips and rife attachment locking catch. The pommel also stamped with British inspectors mark and the rack the number ‘10’.

All in good aged condition.

French Model 1831 Short Sword dated 1832

An early production, French 1831 pattern brass handle artillery man's short sword, marked at the ricasso with the manufacturer “Royal Chatellerault” reverse dated 1832.

Complete with it's original matching numbers black leather brass mounted scabbard.

The French 1831 sword was based on ancient sculptural depictions of the Roman Gladius the standard sword of the Roman legionaries.

Sword and scabbard are in good solid condition with some areas of pitting to blade and a split to brass drag of the scabbard.

Blade length 48.5cm total length 64cm.

British 1885 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword 9th Lancers 

1885 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword marked to the 9th Lancers and later to the Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry. The 34.5” blade is stamped Weyersberg kirschbaum who manufactured large quantities of swords for the British Army during the latter half of the 19th Century due mainly to the fact that British sword makers could not meet demand. Both the 9th Lancers and the Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry had interesting military histories.The sword is in very good condition although the scabbard has some damage to the lower seam.

A Royal Navy Warrant Officer's Sword c1900, the 80 cm blade with single part fuller, etched with a crowned fouled anchor and the Royal coat of arms amongst scrolling foliage, also bearing maker's name, ''R.C. James & Co., Queen Street, Portsmouth'', the back with etched panel named to J Ore, R.N., the gothic style gilt brass hilt with folding guard, cast with fouled anchor, wire bound fishskin grip, gilt thread bullion knot, brass-mounted black leather scabbard with twin ring suspensions. Blade is in very good condition. Hilt with slight wear to gilding. Slight wear to fishskin grip. Scabbard badly cracked above brass shoe/drag and with general wear and scuffing to leather.

This is an 1845 pattern British Royal Navy cutlass with sheet steel half basket hilt with turned down back edge, ribbed iron grip and 26 inch (66cm) straight steel blade.

The blade ricasso is stamped with the British War Department mark ' W⩚D', Enfield inspectors proof stamp of crown over 'E 63' and the Royal Navy 'N'.

The opposite ricasso has the 1887 conversion stamp 'C/87'.

This is a very good example of a 1889 pattern British navel seaman's cutlass with an 28 inch (75cm) straight flat steel blade, half basket hilt with turned down edges and ribbed iron grip.

The underside of the guard is stamped with Enfield War Department contract stamp '⩚EFD' and the Royal Navy 'N' stamp.

The blade ricasso is also stamped '⩚EFD' and other proof stamps.

In good solid original condition with a clean undamaged blade.

This is an 1845 pattern British navel cutlass with sheet steel half basket hilt with turned down back edge, ribbed iron grip and 26 inch (66cm) straight steel blade.

This one has the diamond shape brass plate for the rack number, but left blank.

The blade ricasso is stamped with the British War Department mark and the Enfield inspectors proof stamp of crown over 'E 30' the opposite side has the 1887 conversion stamp 'C/87'.

In totally original good solid condition with clear markings.

British P1856 Pioneer Sawback Sword

A P1856 Pioneers Sawback sword & scabbard marked to the Royal Sussex Regiment.

The 22.5” blade stamped on one side of the ricasso “Wilkinson London” '03 (for the date 1903) and inspection stamp of a crown over B.R over 4. The other side stamped with WD arrow, inspection mark Crown over 35 and X (bent test mark). Hilt with brass ribbed grip and guard.

Complete with it's original brass mounted black leather scabbard stamped on throat

R.S.R.3 for the 3rd Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment.

Sword and scabbard are as found, with staining and pitting to blade.

Imperial Prussian M1871 Sword Bayonet
A regimentally marked Imperial Prussian M1871 sword bayonet by E. Wilhelm of Suhl for the 1871 Mauser Rifle.
The bayonet has brass grips, smooth on one side and grooved on the other. The crossguard is stamped with regimental markings 4.R.R.166. and is stamped at the ricasso with the manufacturer detail ' E. Wilhelm Suhl'
The back of the blade has the Prussian ‘Crown above W’ mark and ‘74’ date stamp (1874). The single edged blade measures 18.3". The blade has light staining consistent with age but no damage. The brass mounted black leather is regimentally marked 107.R.R.8.226.

This is a very good, 1
st pattern French M1886 Lebel rifle bayonet with white metal hilt, down swept quillion and round button catch. The round button press was altered in 1893 to a squarer shape; this is the first pattern before the button catch was altered. The cruciform blade is 520mm (20 1/2"), working spring catch; it is complete with its original blued matching numbers steel scabbard (no dents) and brown leather frog.

The 1900 pattern was the last cutlass to be used by the Royal Navy.

With a 28inch straight spear point blade with a shallow fuller running down each side.

The blackened hilt with heavy duty bowl guard and pressed leather grips.

Ricasso is stamped with the manufactures details of 'Wilkinson London' and the British War Department broad arrow mark over 'N' indicating acceptance by the Royal Navy.

This is a good example of a now hard to find P1900 cutlass.

Norwegian Krag Jorgensen M1894 Bayonet
This is the long version of the Krag Jorgensen M1894 bayonet and is not easy to find as most M1894 bayonets were shortened during WW2. This bayonet was made at Kongsberg Arsenal and has the Crowned 'K' on the blade. It has matching numbers of "140412" on both the crossguard and scabbard lip. The grips are slab wood and secured with a single screw bolt, it has a push button bayonet release which operates as it should. The blade measures 37cm long and is clean with fullers extending to within 4" of the tip. The black painted steel scabbard is in good undented condition.

A very good example of a hard to find bayonet.


M1888 Mark I Type II Lee Metford Bayonet to the 1st Battalion The Welsh Regiment
The 12” double-edged blade is marked on the ricasso with a crown above VR (Queen Victoria ) numerous date and inspection marks and the manufacturer details of “Wilkinson London” 

The obverse ricasso is marked with "EFD" for the Enfield factory, the British War Department broad arrow, bend test and Enfield inspection stamp. The pommel is stamped “I W E L” for the 1st Battalion The Welsh Regiment. The blade has minor age related tarnish and small areas of pitting.

Rigby Dublin with round 4 inch browned twist sighted barrel, with fluted rib top engraved “Dublin”, two platinum breech bands and platinum plug, engraved lock plate signed “W. & J. A 46 bore percussion travelling pistol with back-action lock signed “Kavanagh”, full walnut stock with silver escutcheon, chequered fish-tail butt, engraved trigger-guard,stirrup ramrod and a 5 inch round sighted barrel inscribed ‘Dublin’ and struck with Dublin census mark DC-457.

This is a very nice 100 bore pocket/muff pistol (slightly smaller than the average pocket pistol of this period) with sliding top safety catch, wooden grips and 2inch barrel.
The brass body engraved ''RYAN & WATSON'' on one side and ''BIRM'' on the other.
Pistol has a good crisp working action.

A very rare set of mid Victorian Nottingham City Police handcuffs manufactured by Field & Sons.

The cuffs are marked N.C.P for the Nottingham City Police and also the name and address of ‘Field & Sons 233 Holborn London’ who was a well known supplier of police equipment during the 19th century. Field & Son operated from the 233 Holborn London address from 1842 till moving to 59 Leman Street in 1877.

The cuffs are in perfect working order and come with their original key.

The 17 ½ “ truncheon painted with coat of arms of Blackburn, flanked left to right by the date 1851 and circumscribed ‘BLACKBURN BOROUGH POLICE’ also stamped ‘FIELD 233 HOLBORN’ to end of handle.
The borough of Blackburn received its Charter of Incorporation on 28 August 1851.

Victorian, City of London Police Truncheon
An early Victorian city of London Police truncheon by Parker.
This is an early type and was probably issued to special constables at the Chartist riots, see page 37 of The Police Man’s Lot by the late Mervyn Mitton.
The (47cm) truncheon is painted with the white shield of the city of London and maker stamped ‘Parker 233 Holborn’ (pre-1841).

Early 19th Century Watchman’s Rattle
This type of rattle was used by Watchmen prior to the formation of the Metropolitan police (1829) it was not swung but held in one hand by the handle and revolved by means of a knob on the top.
This particular rattle is showing its age with some bruising and a split to the wooden body and clacker tong but is still working although the top knob is missing.

Very Rare small size Hiatt Plug 8 handcuffs and key c1800.

The handcuffs are maker stamped (faint but still visible) ‘HIATT’ and ‘HARD’ and both the key and the cuffs are marked with the letter ‘g’.

Inside dimensions of each wrist cuff is just 2 ½ “ at widest point, overall size of handcuffs is 4 ½ “

Victorian Metropolitan Police Truncheon

From 1890s onwards Metropolitan police truncheons were not generally decorated but were die-stamped usually with the initials ‘MP’ and also, very often, with the division and divisional number of the constable. The early ones were made of teak, ebony or lignum vitae. See page 38 of ‘The Policeman’s Lot’ by Mervyn Mitton

This is a late Victorian c1890s – 1900 heavy wood Metropolitan police truncheon die-stamped ‘MP’ centred with a Queens crown.

15” (38cm) long and in good condition with no splits or cracks.

Made from wrought iron these would be the most heavy duty handcuffs of the 19th century.

Victorian Dolan & co London Police Crescent Lamp

An antique police lamp with bulls eye lens, belt hook and carrying handles.

The lamp measures 6 inches high and has a brass plaque which reads “Patent The Crescent Lamp Dolan & co London”, it also has the original paraffin burner with match strike plate, there is a lever on the side which can be moved to black out the lamp but this is jammed.

The lamp has been painted at some time and apart from the jammed lever it is in good used condition.

Victorian Cheshire constabulary truncheon with original leather case

A rare late Victorian Cheshire constabulary police truncheon in original Fields patented leather truncheon case.The Fields patent case had a spring covered with a leather button at its base and when the top of the case was opened the truncheon would spring up ready to be used by the police constable.

Field was a manufacturer and supplier of police equipment during the 19th century up until 1886 when the company’s name disappeared from all trade books

Truncheon is stamped Cheshire constabulary No 2 Division and is 16 ¾ “ (42cm) in length.

Case is stamped with a crown over Fields patent and is 23” (59cm) in length.

This is a very rare item in full working order and in very good condition.

A totally original Victorian Police Cutlass/ Hanger and black steel mounted leather scabbard.
The cutlass has a good clean 24” curved spear point blade, its steel hand guard & stepped pommel are pitted but are undamaged, the fish skin hand grips are undamaged and the scabbard release button is working as it should. The original leather scabbard has age consistent wear with pitting to steel mounts but remains undamaged. The overall length of the cutlass is 30”.

A very good Victorian Police Hanger of the type carried by British police officers during the mid to late 19th century. With brass D shaped hand guard, stepped pommel and fish skin grips. The 24inch curved spear point blade is in excellent condition and is contained in its original black leather brass mounted scabbard with original black leather frog. The scabbard release button is still present and working well.

WW1 Bayonet

This is an origina WW1 1907 pattern bayonet for the Enfield rifle manufactured in 1917 by Wilkinson. 

The ricasso is stamped with the maker name 'WILKINSON' and Kings Crown over '1907' (Pattern) & '6 '17 date ( June 1917).

The 17 inch blade is clean and undamaged and the wood slab grips are in good undamaged condition.

It is complete with it's original steel mounted black leather scabbard.

All in good condition.


WW2 Bayonet

WWII Japanese Type 30 Arisaka Bayonet, Riken Kozai KK Arsenal
An excellent and complete example of Japanese type 30 bayonet, manufactured between 1939 and 1945 at the Riken Kozai KK Arsenal under Nagoya supervision .
It has a 40cm blued steel blade, straight cross guard, slab wood grips secured with two screws and a round type birds head pommel with serial number 13820.
Bayonet comes with it's original blued steel scabbard with scarce original leather frog. All in very good condition.
