Blackburn Police Truncheon
WWI era Blackburn Special Constables presentation truncheon, transfer decorated with a crown over a GR cipher and coat of arms for Blackburn inscribed 'SPECIAL CONSTABLE 1914-1919.
The truncheon is made from heavy wood measuring 15.5" long and complete with its original leather strap.
The bottom of the truncheon is stamped with the makers name 'Hiatt & Co LTD B-ham’

During the Liverpool Police strike/riots of 1919
when half the police force went on strike and were sacked, while
the other half were given awards – constables were awarded these
truncheons as a thank you for not going on strike.

Original Leeds Police whistle made by Wm Dowler
early 1900's, good condition.
Leeds City Police was formed in 1836 and
amalgamated with Bradford City Police in 1974.
This is an original Leeds Police whistle made by
Wm Dowler and Son Ltd, Graham Street Works, Birmingham. It has a
'Porteous' top, was possibly manufactured around 1900's and is in
good condition with no marks etc on it - inscription clearly
visible.

The London county council parks police was formed in 1896 to administer and make sure that all London’s parks regulations and by- laws were enforced.
The L.C.C Police where active until c1907.
