Irish Percussion Manstopper Pistol by Rigby

A .65” Irish percussion Manstopper pistol by W. & J. Rigby Dublin with round 4 inch browned twist sighted barrel,with fluted rib top engraved “Dublin”, two platinum breech bands and platinum plug, engraved lock plate signed “W. & J. Rigby”, walnut full stock and chequered-bag grips with silver butt cap, engraved trigger guard and pineapple finial, stirrup ramrod and hinged steel back strap enclosing compartments for storing ammunition.

9 inch (23cm) overall with a good working action.

Irish Percussion Travelling Pistol by kavanagh c1835-1840

A 46 bore percussion travelling pistol with back-action lock signed “Kavanagh”, full walnut stock with silver escutcheon, chequered fish-tail butt, engraved trigger-guard,stirrup ramrod and a 5 inch round sighted barrel inscribed ‘Dublin’ and struck with Dublin census mark DC-457.

9.2 inches overall.

W. & J.Kavanagh had premises at 12 Dane Street, Dublin, Ireland, 1830-1862.

Pistol has a good strong working action and is in good condition apart from the hammer spair is broken off.

English Flintlock Pocket pistol by Ryan & Watson c1800
An all brass English Flintlock pocket pistol with drop-down trigger by Ryan & Watson.
Founded by Benjamin Watson who started manufacturing guns at 27 Whittall St Birmingham in 1777.
This is a very nice 100 bore pocket/muff pistol (slightly smaller than the average pocket pistol of this period) with sliding top safety catch, wooden grips and 2inch barrel.
The brass body engraved ''RYAN & WATSON'' on one side and ''BIRM'' on the other.
Pistol has a good crisp working action.
6inches overall length.

Flintlock Pocket Pistol by Turner of London
An early 19th century 35 bore flintlock pocket pistol by Turner of London with concealed drop down trigger, half cock and frizzen safety catch lock and a 3.5cm screw off barrel.
The lock plate is signed ‘Turner’ to the left side and ‘London’ to the right side.
The pistol has a total length of 14.5cm and has good working action.

A 100-bore flintlock muff pistol of smaller size signed Mortimer, 1.25” (3cm) turn-off barrel, border engraved brass actions signed ‘MORTIMER LONDON’ and decorated with stands of arms, sliding top safety catch, slab sided wood butt grips with minor repairs, crisp working action holding full and half cock with smooth release, total length 5.5” (14cm)

Large Percussion Holster Pistol by Braithwaite c1840
A large 15 inches long percussion holster pistol with back action lock signed Braithwaite (Most likely John Braithwaite of Leeds, listed as a gun maker 1833-1861) The 10 inch .60” calibre barrel stamped with Birmingham black powder proof marks with end bead sight. Full walnut stock and original ebony ramrod. Good working action. Smith & Wesson .32 Tip up Revolver

Smith & Wesson 5 shot .32 cal, model 1 ½, 2nd Issue rimfire revolver c1872. The barrel top strap engraved “Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass Pat Apr. 3. 55. July 5. 59 & Nov 21. 65” with lower ejector rod and release catch, removable fluted nickel plated 5 shot cylinder and birds head polished wood grips. Pistol has a perfect working action and is in very good condition with just some minor wear to the nickel plating. 3.5” barrel 8” overall length. A Pair of 19th Century Percussion Cap Pocket Pistols by Belloni

A pair of 19th century percussion cap pocket pistols c1840, each with 1 ¾" (4.3cm) turn-off steel barrels one stamped “2” the other “3” with Birmingham proof marks,  foliate engraved box locks with maker details “Belloni” “Shaftsbury”, slide safety catches, concealed triggers and  walnut slab grips. 6" (15cm) overall length. 

Both pistols have good working actions and are in good condition with one pistol having some slight damage to hammer cup. NB: As an antique percussion pistols no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as a part of a collection or display.
