British SLR L1A4 Bayonet
The L1A4 bayonet was introduced into British military service during the 1970s to replace the L1A3 bayonet.
The L1A4 differs from the L1A1, L1A2, and L1A3, by having the pommel secured to the tang by rivets. The pommel was brazed to the tang on earlier marks.
This is a good example of a L1A4 bayonet.
The ricasso is stamped with a 'H' inside a diamond indicating it was manufactured by Hopkinson Ltd., Sheffield, right grip stamped "L1.A.4 and 9600259 S.M." for the NATO contract number.
Complete with its original black steel scabbard and green nylon frog.
The L1A4 is much less common than the earlier A1, A2 and A3 bayonets.
